On a recent day at MIR, a 5th grade student was dropped off just in time for the start of school. As he hurried to his class, a small 1st grade girl ran to catch up to him, calling hello. He briefly weighed calling a quick hello and continuing to class at his current pace, then slowed down, walking her to class.
Connection is a basic human need. MIR works to create these moments of connection among students and families within the school and in the local and global communities through education and participation.
"In nature we never see anything isolated, but everything in connection with something else which is before it, beside it, under it and over it." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
