Programs

MIR offers a Montessori education based on the principles and practices of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). Our programs include Toddlers (18 months-3 years), Primary (3-6 years), and Elementary (6 years to 6th grade).

Children are in mixed age groups because, as Dr. Maria Montessori said, "Our schools show that children of different ages help one another. There are many things which no teacher can convey to a child of three, but a child of five can do it with ease."

The MIR curriculum supports children's natural development and allows them to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. Read the 2014-2105 Annual Report to learn more about our educational outcomes.

MIR is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The curriculum meets and exceeds all California state standards.

A Montessori education cannot be conveyed by words and photos alone. You are invited to visit our school and see our campus, classrooms, and students at work.
